Maggie was so exciting to bring home the bird feeder she made in preschool. The day they made it, she told me about how they rolled it in flattening, to make it flat. Huh? The teacher also wasn't sure where she got that one.
Now she knows it's shortening, but she is still convinced people who eat it are made short. Huh.

Well, sorry to have disappeared for a while! Right around the end of March we put an offer on a house...and then we closed at the end of April - so my life is now nuts with moving (we're in the new house, but it feels like unpacking may take FOREVER), and oh yeah - still pregnant too! Whew :)

Today's picture is a self-portrait of Maggie and I. I should certainly start taking pictures of the new house, as we get things set up and looking nice.

I'll try to get better about posting again - cross my heart!

I had to post two pictures today, to capture Maggie's pride in her creation, and of course a close-up of what she'd done :)
These are three characters from Yo Gabba Gabba, who are part of a bath toy collection we have. Maggie dressed one of them in her washcloth and set up the happy lil family on the soap dish.

As you know, I'm a little behind on posting these. This was taken at home, but Maggie's finishing off a little bowl of rainbow sherbet. I think it was after her first night of karate class.

And I have to say, from here forward (or until I state otherwise again) the pictures may be taken by me or hubby, since I don't remember who took what as I'm finally downloading them from the camera card..

This afternoon while mommy and daddy were talking to Grandma, Maggie found daddy's boots :) She was able to walk a little bit, but was much better at striking a pose.

March 26 - Maggie and the Fairy Queen

Maggie and I went to Fairy Tea in a neighboring town. She really loved it! After the luncheon portion, there was a sprinkling of fairy dust, a quick relay race with a few of the 'new' fairies (including Maggie), and a story ready by the fairy queen. Anytime they thought about inviting little fairies on the stage, Maggie was the first up there :) She was loving the limelight!

Here's the proud result after hubby instructed Maggie to sort the silverware. Instead of sorting the clean silverware from the dishwasher into the drawer tray, she took everything out of the drawer to re-load the dishwasher. But she did a fairly good job of it!

One of the bonuses to having a mom who's a chocolatier is super-yummy dessert on a regular basis. Tonight, we had strawberries with melted Dove dark chocolate - I think Maggie was a fan!

February 26 - Cousins

This is the best picture I was able to capture today of the three cousins. For two days in July, they will be one, two and three years old (since the baby turns one two days before my daughter Maggie turns four). Olivia (in the middle) will be turning two near the end of March.

I know this is an awful picture, and I'm sorry I didn't get a better one! Maggie kept pulling the towel off the stove handle and saying, "Ta-da!" I'm not sure where the real magic was supposed to be, but it was a very dramatic reveal!

These are some of the samples from my Dove Chocolate Discoveries party. It's our new Cocoa Rub sprinkled on cucumbers (for ease of sampling). It can also be used on roasted vegetables, potatoes, or with mayonnaise as a sandwich spread!

This is SOOC. They're toward the middle of the frame - he's got a gray jacket on and she's in a pink jacket and pink snowpants with her arms out. Without a lift ticket, this is the closest I could get, and I certainly wasn't planning to pay for a lift ticket and walk in the snow just to take pictures ;)

Here's one side of the beautiful view we enjoyed from the top of the Eiffel Tower ride at the Paris hotel where we stayed in Las Vegas. A wonderful woman who works planning events for our company gave us the tickets or we may have not gotten around to going up there!

These are some of the chocolate creations I made in a special cooking class I earned with Jin Caldwell of Ethel M's Chocolates in Henderson, Nevada. It was so much fun!!

The strawberries were soaked in moscato the day before, and the bowls were made using water balloons to make the shape. Cute and yummy :)

We had a lot of fun painting at a birthday party a few weeks ago, so of course Maggie wanted to do it again. This time we got out paper plates to make masks (or as Maggie says it, "mask-es"). Mommy made one, and Daddy made one, and Maggie made one! Can you guess who painted which mask?

The first words out of Maggie's mouth this morning were, "I'm SO EXCITED to wear my new leotard!!" Really. So today I had to post a picture of her in her new Supergirl leotard (there's a little Supergirl S at the waist). Here she is showing her 'strong arms' like she learned in class. They had to hold themselves up for a few seconds before sliding down the slide. The plastic slide somehow made her hair even more flyaway and crazy than usual!

As I've been trying to clean/pack up my office, I found one of those magic trees, where you mix the powder with water, then stand the paper tree up and it grows chemical powdery 'leaves'? Anyway, I know the tree won't last, and Maggie has said she'll be sad, so I wanted to take a picture for us to remember our first magic tree.

This picture was trickier to take than I expected! I originally planned on taking it straight on, but I couldn't get it without a flash spot on it. After turning on some reading lights above it, and coming in slightly from an angle, I got it close enough to what I wanted.

Another house picture, of sorts. This is my desk. I love my desk. We got it off Craigslist last fall. It's monstrously huge, and I'm really worried about getting it out my office and back together successfully in a new office.
This is also a before picture of sorts. I need to get my office ready for showings if we're to list the house. The goal is to have this accomplished in the next two weeks. So the next picture I take in here will look like something out of a catalog. :)

Tonight I went and worked on Maggie's scrapbook with some friends. Yes, I did 'take' the picture. And I'm the one in the blue 'I <3 Nerds' shirt in the front. I was using my timer, and the same thing happened that I (after the fact...) remembered happening last time I used the timer.

I somehow set it on continuous!

So it kept going...

And going! I was laughing at the silliness while running toward the camera, while my poor scrapbooking friends were wondering if they should still be posing, or what was going on!

Welp, I'm trying again :) I'm letting myself put words this year, and I may even sometimes cross-post to my personal blog if I decide to. It's my world, right?

I'm not off to a real strong start yet. It's 10:30PM and I've taken two pictures today. Both of them were of our dining room. We're getting ready to list the house, so hubby cleaned the kitchen and dining room today just for pictures. His mom has spoken to a friend of hers who may be interested in a private sale. How nice would that be, to sell the house without the drama of showings? I know, I won't count on it.
